Pim-Pim will miss Davis Cup, but heading to Besançon!
Some news at last! There's a short article from The Canadian Press (and other Swedish sites!) that Pim-Pim will miss the upcoming Davis Cup tie against Israel. I have included the short article inside. :) But the good news is, he's on the entry list for the challenger at Besançon, France! The tournament starts on February 23rd, hopefully he has some good results there.

PimPim is in Adelaide!
I didn't find out about WTC until a couple of weeks ago, otherwise I would've considered going! But anyway, here's some news from Adelaide. Joachim, who arrived yesterday for the World Tennis Challenge at Memorial Drive, hopes to grab a meal at Unley Rd's La Tombola and the Hyatt's Shiki while in town.
But he won't be dining alone. His pro-golfer girlfriend Johanna Westerberg has joined him for the trip. "Australia is always tough to beat at home," Joachim, affectionately known as Pim Pim, said. "But I've been in the Davis Cup team when beating them in Adelaide before," he added with a smile. |
PimPim returns to the ATP Tour!
Great news for PimPim fans! I can't believe it myself ^^ Former ATP World No. 9 Joachim "Pim-Pim" Johansson of Sweden announced on Friday that he would resume his professional tennis career starting at the If Stockholm Open, where he has received a wild card for the main draw, which starts on Monday. |
Stockholm will be his only tournament in 2008 (remember those great results he had there just two years ago?) but he's looking to ease back to a full schedule in the second half of 2009. PimPim - how about a trip to Australia in January? :D
It's official - PimPim has retired from tennis
Swede Joachim Johansson has announced his retirement from professional tennis after three years with shoulder injuries.
"Taking that into account it is hard for me to reach my objectives and for that reason it makes it impossible for me to continue my challenge.
"This is a decision that has developed during the last month. Now I will set myself new goals but whatever happens I will always continue to play tennis." |
Good luck with everything PimPim - we hope to still see you around the tennis world.
