Pim-Pim defeated the #1 seed Bjorn Rehnquist 6-1, 7-6 (4) to claim the title in Goteborg. Joachim's third (?) comeback attempt got off to a nice start at the Sweden Futures. He advanced to the second round after his opponent Johan Settergren retired with cramps at 6-4 3-1. Pim-Pim's Comback Delayed
For precautionary reasons Pim-Pim has decided to forgo his US summer hardcourt comeback. He has thus withdrawn from Pilot Pen (New Haven) as well as the US Open. According to the Swedish press he is now aiming to return to competition in the fall.
Results from Recanati, Italy
Although PimPim lost his doubles match with Yenko Muller against top seed Sanguinetti/Bolelli (the score was 5-7 3-6), he won in the 1st round of singles!
The final score against Marcel Granollers-Pujol was 7-6(3) 6-3! His next opponent will be Michael Lammer from Switzerland.
